Philip & Jessica – A Rainy Rooftop Wedding at Alcove

September 27, 2024

Some wedding days don’t go exactly as planned, and somehow end up feeling even more perfect because of it. Philip and Jessica’s wedding was one of those days.

With just 36 of their closest people, their celebration at Alcove felt intimate in the best way. It was relaxed, meaningful, and completely centered around family, connection, and being present in the moment.

The day began in their apartment, where both Philip and Jessica got ready. It was such a personal start to everything. No rushing between locations, no extra noise, just a calm, familiar space filled with anticipation. Those quieter moments before everything officially began ended up setting the tone for the entire evening.

They planned to say their vows on the rooftop at Alcove, surrounded by the Nashville skyline, but the weather had its own ideas. Rain rolled in, soft and steady, turning the entire evening into something a little more cinematic. There was something incredibly romantic about the way everything unfolded. The city skyline wrapped in clouds, the glow of the evening light reflecting off the rain, and their closest people gathered close. It felt intimate, almost like the world slowed down just for them.

Their ceremony was simple and heartfelt, exactly in line with their Mediterranean-inspired white party vision. Guests arrived dressed entirely in white, creating such a cohesive, elevated look that felt both modern and timeless. Paired with touches of gold and black, the entire scene felt effortlessly styled against the moody sky. And throughout it all, their focus stayed exactly where they wanted it to be. On each other and on their people.

Family played such a huge role in their day, especially with Philip’s daughters by his side. Those moments together felt especially meaningful, and it was clear how important it was to them to have those memories documented in a natural, documentary way. Nothing felt overly structured. Just real interactions, laughter, and the kind of moments you can’t plan.

As the evening continued, the celebration flowed seamlessly into an intimate reception, with incredible food from Juniper Green and a warm, relaxed atmosphere that felt more like a gathering than a production.

No big send-off, no rigid timeline. Just a night that unfolded naturally.

Philip and Jessica’s wedding is such a perfect example of how the most memorable days aren’t about perfect conditions or perfectly executed plans. They’re about being present, embracing whatever comes, and choosing each other through all of it. Rain included.
