Colorful streamers hanging between the trees, dried flower petals waiting for the send off, laughter echoing through the woods, and the feeling of a summer camp reunion mixed with a wedding celebration. Savannah and Andrew created the kind of wedding day that felt less about tradition and more about connection. Set in the middle of nature and surrounded by the people who know and love them best.
Their story started in Hawaii, where the two met while Andrew was stationed there in the Navy and Savannah was visiting from Wisconsin after college. After officially getting married in a courthouse ceremony, they wanted this day to be the big celebration. The chance to bring everyone together, be outside, and celebrate their love in a way that felt meaningful, playful, and entirely their own.

The weather had other plans, and what was meant to be an outdoor ceremony turned into something unexpectedly cozy and intimate indoors. Tucked inside the camp’s wooden dining hall, surrounded by colorful ribbons, florals, and all of their favorite people gathered close, the ceremony felt warm, joyful, and full of character.
One of the sweetest touches of the entire day was a handmade ceramic serving platter created by Savannah’s mom, where guests were invited to leave their fingerprints as part of the design. Savannah’s mom being an art teacher made this feel even more special. It was such a thoughtful way to create something collaborative and lasting from the people who showed up to celebrate them.

After the ceremony, we spent time wandering through the grounds for portraits, and honestly, it all felt so effortless. No stiff posing, no pressure, just the two of them soaking in the day together.
That same energy carried into their family and wedding party photos too. Instead of anything overly formal, we leaned into movement, connection, and moments that actually felt like memories in the making. Big hugs, laughter, relaxed interactions, and all the little in-between moments that end up meaning the most later.
It was clear from the start that what mattered most to them was preserving how the day felt, not just how it looked.

With around 60 guests, the entire day felt intimate in the best way. Warm, welcoming, and full of personality.
Dinner and cake from Miller’s Bakery kept the celebration feeling cozy and laid back, and as the evening came to a close, guests tossed dried flower petals into the air during their send off, creating the dreamiest ending to an already magical day.

Savannah and Andrew’s wedding is such a beautiful reminder that your wedding can look however you want it to. It doesn’t have to fit a mold to be meaningful.
When a day is built around joy, intention, and the people you love most, it becomes unforgettable all on its own.
