Abigail & August – An Autumn Estate Wedding at Graham’s Estate

October 25, 2024

There’s something about late October weddings that just hits different. The air feels softer, the colors feel deeper, and everything slows down in the best way. Abigail and August’s day at Graham’s Estate fit right into that feeling, like it was made for that exact moment in the season.

With about 85 guests gathered on the estate grounds, their wedding carried this effortless autumn energy. Deep reds, burnt oranges, forest greens, and natural textures came together in a way that felt intentional but never forced. It was elegant, warm, and very them.

Abigail and August both live in Hendersonville now, though they come from different places originally. Abigail grew up in DC, August in Hendersonville, and their story started in the most unassuming way. They met at work at Home Depot and slowly built a relationship that’s now been growing for three years, with one year engaged leading into this day.

Their proposal was just as personal. During a strawberry festival on Mother’s Day weekend in Portland, August got down on one knee while Abigail was bent over picking strawberries. Simple, unexpected, and completely perfect for them.

The day started at Graham’s Estate in the bridal cabin and surrounding spaces, where both sides of the wedding party got ready on site. There was a steady calm mixed with excitement, the kind of energy that builds quietly before everything begins.

Abigail shared a first look with her dad, which became one of the most emotional moments of the entire morning. It was full of pride, gratitude, and that quiet realization that a big chapter was unfolding right in front of them.

She also had a first look with her bridesmaids, which brought a total shift in energy. Seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen filled the day with life, laughter, and constant movement, keeping everything feeling fun and grounded all at once.

Their ceremony took place outdoors on the estate grounds, surrounded by peak fall color and soft golden light. One of the most intentional details was capturing the “you may kiss the bride” moment from the officiant’s perspective, with the guests in the background. It gave the moment this immersive, almost cinematic feeling that still stayed completely real.

Family portraits were kept intentional and relaxed, focusing on the combinations that mattered most while still keeping the flow of the day moving smoothly. With a full guest list and lots of loved ones present, the focus stayed on connection over perfection.

Throughout the day, there was a strong emphasis on candid, documentary-style coverage. Less posing, more presence. Less staging, more story.

The reception continued that same autumn warmth into the evening. Guests enjoyed an Italian-inspired dinner from Carrabba’s alongside desserts from Courtney’s Sweet Confections, all while DJ Julian Viall kept the energy moving from heartfelt moments into full celebration.

Their first dance and Abigail’s dance with her dad stood out as quiet, emotional pauses in the middle of a really joyful night.

As the evening wrapped up, the night naturally softened into conversation, dancing, and lingering moments that didn’t feel rushed or overly formal. Just people enjoying being together.

Abigail and August’s wedding is a reminder of how powerful simplicity can be when it’s rooted in intention. Nothing overly styled or complicated. Just a day that reflected their story exactly as it is.

And that’s what made it feel so special.
