There’s something truly magical about family sessions during the holiday season, and my time with the Christian family was no exception. This family portrait session was all about capturing genuine, intimate moments at their home, surrounded by both immediate and extended family who had come together to celebrate the Christmas season. I took a documentary-style approach, allowing everyone to simply be themselves as I photographed the already-created moments of love and laughter.
The session was relaxed and authentic, with no forced poses or interruptions. The kids ran around playing games, while parents shared laughter and conversation. We captured everything from the family putting on cozy pajamas to the joy of unwrapping presents together. It was all about documenting these beautiful, everyday interactions and the love that ties them together.
One of the highlights of the day came at the end of the session when the dad, who had found me to capture these special memories, surprised everyone with a homemade snow machine. Watching the kids run around and play in the bubbles that looked just like snow was a pure joy to capture. It was a perfect way to wrap up the session, leaving everyone with big smiles and warm hearts. This session was a wonderful reminder of how meaningful it is to freeze these little moments in time, creating lasting memories for the Christian family to look back on for years to come.
