I recently had the privilege of capturing Ashlynn and Colby’s engagement photoshoot, and it was a truly wonderful experience. They booked me for their wedding in May 2025, and chose to add on an engagement session with their wedding package. I love when couples do this because it allows us to meet and learn more about each other’s personalities before the big day. Having a wedding photographer that you feel comfortable with is extremely important, and this engagement session helped build a deeper connection, making them feel more at ease for one of the biggest days of their lives.
Getting to know Ashlynn and Colby before and during their engagement session was amazing. We started at Public Square Park in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This location is stunning, with its lush greenery and beautiful city landscapes. The lightly colored European-style buildings provide a gorgeous and elegant backdrop for engagement photos, blending nature with the urban charm of Nashville.
After spending time at Public Square Park, we moved to Hotel Indigo, just down the street. I love these two locations because they offer such distinct vibes—Public Square Park provides a lovely outdoor look, while Hotel Indigo offers a more moody, intimate indoor setting. The contrast between the natural light in the park and the direct flash inside the hotel creates a beautiful variety in the photos.
I also brought my film camera, which added an extra layer of nostalgia and authenticity to the session. At the hotel, I took some flash photos, capturing fun and intimate moments of Ashlynn and Colby running around, laughing, and enjoying their time together. The film photos added a timeless touch, enhancing the overall feel of the shoot.
